Dragon Rush Text System

dragon_snapshot2.png

Just like I said, here’s the screenshot of the text system! I think it’s much better than the default Game Maker message system (it is a boring dark grey). I used my name in the screenshot, but you can choose any name you want. I set a limit to the amount of characters you can enter in the name, however. The design for the text system was created using pure code, so I can add alternate colours later on. What do you think of it?

I just finished the battle transition today. It is not as good as I hoped, but it is okay. Now I’ll have to work on the actual battle system which will, like I said before, take a week or two. So far the game size is about 2MB. I’m a bit worried that it will end up being huge. I want it to load as fast as possible, so when I release the demo let me know if the loading speed is too slow.

A little Contest!

Josh, Jessica and I decided to have a little contest. Whoever designs the best title is the winner. The title Josh and I designed are for games we are currently developing. Jessica’s title is just an image. It is not part of any game. Right now we are not going to say who designed what (though it’s easy to figure out what Jessica made). Vote on the title you think is best.

What’s not to like about dragons? Dragons are strong, flying, fire-breathing creatures that are just plain cool!

This title was made with various sprites from The Shy Guy Kingdom. There’s a small story to it.

Lucario’s quite a popular Pokemon in the centre, but who are the other two?

Download the Game!

Note: If you’ve downloaded a previous version you may need to clear your cache.

I’ve added some additional features in this version. There is now a windowed version. You can change from full-screen to windowed in the resolution page. Windowed mode is faster, but it is smaller and has one huge flaw. If you press a button and move the window around the game will still think you’re holding down the button. You can fix this by pressing and letting go of that button. This problem is due to the way Game Maker runs.

The most important new feature is Classic and Normal mode. Normal mode is the same as the previous versions. In Classic mode the rooms are smaller, but they are scaled up so it appears that everything is larger. I have done this for everyone that wanted smaller rooms. You can change the game mode in Options. Classic mode also contains different dungeons!

This is a room in Normal mode. The room is much larger and all of the sprites are smaller than in Classic mode. The real problem is that it takes way to long to get from one side of the room to the other.

The rooms are smaller and the sprites are about two times bigger. There aren’t many disadvantages with the Classic version except the bosses are a little harder since the view has been halved. Mini-bosses are also a little tougher. I’m guessing most people will prefer Classic so you should try that before you try Normal.

After some more testing I think it’s finally ready. The game is mostly the same except for the addition of a new dungeon. The Twilight Dungeon has smaller rooms, different puzzles and is harder. I recommend you play the Twilight Dungeon instead of the Light Dungeon. It’s got a much better design, better enemies and a better mini-boss and boss. As always feedback is welcomed and like I said before if you want me to support different resolutions just ask. I’ve decided to add a text document with some basic help just in case. The help on the site is much more detailed, but you may not need all of it. There is now a Windows Vista version available to download!

This room is very special. I believe that this room is the best room I have ever created. It’s fairly simple to understand. There are 4 lanterns that are first unlit. You must light them all by warping to different areas and performing certain tasks (such as destroying all of the enemies in the room). One of the rooms contain a new enemy that is much harder than all of the other enemies. They’re small enemies, but don’t let their size fool you!

Well, after this is the third and toughest path. It will really test your skills. The third dungeon will be longer than the Light and Twilight Dungeon. At least 20 rooms. First though, a small break! After that I’ll work on the game again.

When I first started Bgames I had virtually nothing and now I’ve actually got some stuff. I’m glad I’ve made progress and I really hope to continue. I’ll try to post on Bgames often like I’m doing now. I don’t like leaving the site untouched for over a week. Well, enjoy the game!

Reploid - Zero (10 in 1 Games)

This game is based on the Mega Man X series and stars Zero. There are a total of three bosses in this little game and one level. There are three passages you can take. The upper passage, which is the easiest, the bottom passage, which is the average one and the middle passage. I don’t recommend taking the middle passage first because it is quite difficult.

With a game like this I’ll need to do some talking. Nintendo owns the characters and graphics not me. This is just a fan-made game for people to enjoy, nothing more. It is completely freeware and may not be sold. Failure to comply with this may get you in some serious trouble. I take no responsibility for that.

Sorry for being kind of harsh, but I don’t want anything bad to happen as a result of the release of 10 in 1 games. Enjoy!
