Time Change

I’ve recently set the display time on my site to be Eastern. I couldn’t do this with the old Flatpress. Now things won’t appear as if they were posted 10 hours from Eastern time zone anymore! This, however, has come with a cost. I can no longer edit the header of the site (through my Flatpress profile) or Flatpress will claim that the time offset I’ve selected is invalid!

Anyways I’m planning to add a cheats/hints section to our site. In it I will discuss cheats or hints that I’ve found or verified to work in a few official games. It won’t be massive, but I’m intending it to be helpful.

Important! Flatpress System Update Problems!

Yesterday I spent hours upgrading the Flatpress blogging system to a newer version. The reason I spent so much time is because of the major problems I encountered. You can no longer comment to blogs before the review of Paper Bowser World: Operation G.R.O.M. The author of Flatpress has changed his blogging system a lot, so compatibility of older things like posts and comments is limited. I think the comment issue is the only problem that you guys have to worry about. I’ve done a lot of testing and noticed a few problems.

1. Comments on older posts no longer work.
2. Editing old posts will delete them.
3. Static pages cannot be edited.

I found a way to get past the third problem, but the first and second problem are still there. Hopefully, there isn’t anything else wrong.

Gravatar

I’ve noticed that the “Dark” theme had some kind of icon feature in the comment section, but I wasn’t too sure how to use it until I did some research. The “Dark” theme supports Gravatar, a free way to have avatars when posting to blogs. Many other blogs have also implemented this feature. Your avatar url is made from the hex equivalent of your email address (lower-case letters!). Our blog does not require an email address to comment, but if you have a gravatar and enter your email address you will see your avatar beside your comment.

It is very easy to set up your gravatar. Follow these simple steps if you want a gravatar to appear in your comment:
1. Go to Gravatar’s website.
2. Click on sign up and enter your email address.
3. Check your email for the message and add your gravatar.
4. Post your comment and enter your email address in lower-case!

New Theme and Brawl Video

I’ve had the kubrick theme for quite a while and decided it was time for a change since many other people also have that theme. I like this new theme better than the old one. It utilizes space more efficiently and has more widget features. I think I’ll stick with this one. The links are on the right side of my site. If you wish to comment on a post simply click add a comment (or <number> comments if there are already comments ) which is now located on the left bar. This theme looks absolutely wonderful in Firefox!

Brawl has a sample video showing someone hitting the sandbag 2315.9 FT with Lucas. I’ve beaten that score using Lucas as well. Above is the video. It was quite a difficult score to beat, but I’m not sure if that was all the player was capable of. I get the feeling that they could have done better.

Zelda: 3 Paths, 1 Destination

Took longer than expected because of two reasons. One, I had exams that I needed to do well on and two, I’ve spent a lot of time testing and fixing problems. A lot of the problems are so small, but they take a while to find. I think I’ve got the most major ones, but if you encounter an error please let me know. Also, I’d like to know what you want to be added to the game. I’ve got ideas, but more couldn’t hurt.

Remember to check out the help section on the Zelda page above to see the controls and get other help! I’ll summarize them right now, but you might want to check for extra details. The arrow keys move Link, space is for regular sword, B is for a spin and V is to talk to people/get treasure chests. C is the item equipped on the first slot.

Zelda: 3 Paths, 1 Destination is most similar to A Link to the Past, but it is also similar to other Zelda games in some ways. For example, you don’t have to charge to use a spin attack, but it will leave you vulnerable for a bit. One dungeon in this game is completely finished. You can do absolutely everything in it except leave. The demo ends when you defeat the first boss. Since the dungeon is a Light passage I’ve tried to make it easy by putting a lot of pots everywhere and making the AI of enemies limited. Every thing isn’t completely easy though. The puzzles might take you a while to figure out. I’ve tested it a lot so if you somehow can’t get to an area it is most likely because you haven’t done something earlier.

In this demo I haven’t really worked on the story, but I have stated something important when you defeat the first boss. Can you figure out what’s going on? Just who is this random voice that keeps popping up out of nowhere? I’m guessing someone will figure this out, but I’m trying not to make it too obvious.

I got Twilight Princess a couple of months ago and really liked it so I decided to create this game. If you don’t have Twilight Princess I recommend you get it. It is such a great game and deserves a sequel. In my opinion it is even better than Ocarina of Time.

I’ve updated the logo for Bgames. When Zelda loads you’ll see the new logo. It’s the same size and has the same border, but I like it better than the old one. The old one seemed too plain. The new logo has characters from the games on Bgames on it.
